911 Turbo beats ZR1 in Car & Driver Test
After a brawling battle of supercars conducted in part at the famed Laguna Seca racetrack, Car & Driver magazine picked the Porsche 911 Turbo over the 638 hp Corvette ZR1 in a much talked about comparison test.
The magazine’s April 2010 issue compares not only performance on the track, but also road manners on the highway. The journalists found the 911 Turbo to be more refined, better finished, and more comfortable. Plus, the Turbo was quicker on both full course laps and in 0-60 mph sprints – where the Porsche 911 Turbo posted a retina-popping 2.9 second trap time that seems more rocket than automobile.
In the words of Car & Driver, the 911 is “A roadgoing Tomahawk missile that lives up to your childhood established expectations.”
Porsche. There is no substitute.
