People always ask what is a Certified Pre-Owned Acura, and what does a vehicle have to do to become one. Here are a few of the most asked questions…
Q – Can any Acura be a Certified Pre-Owned?
A – In order to even be considered for Certification, the vehicle must be under 80,000 miles and less than 6 model years old. In other words, as soon as the 2014 models become available, 2009 models and newer are eligible, 2008’s are not. This is why a lot of vehicles get traded in just under this deadline because the value of the vehicle reduces quickly if it cannot be certified.
Q – If the vehicle meets the above criteria, then what?
A – The vehicle must pass a 150-point inspection by an Acura Certified Technician. The inspection is from the front bumper to the rear bumper and includes measurements and testing of every system on the vehicle. Our technician described it as “being as close to new as possible, with miles.”
Q – What is the warranty then?
A – 1 Year and 12,000 miles from the date of purchase. If the vehicle has 55,000 miles, it would be covered for one year up to 67,000 miles, whichever comes first.
